Dear Gomez

I hope this question doesn't upset you, but I have to know. Is your store more expensive than the other yarn shops in the area?

Sincerely,

Trying To Save Whenever I Ccan

Dear Trying To Save Whenever I Can,

At Karma we use the yarn companies recommended retail price. Variations in pricing may have occurred before we got our new computer inventory system. It's possible some of those yarns may still show up on a shelf once in a blue moon. If you should notice them, please bring them to our attention.

Always Fair,

Gomez

PS.

Mom and I went on a vacation in North Carolina. Of course, we had to stop at all the yarn stores along the way. Yarns in those “artsy towns” are very expensive. We found PRISM at $95.00 a skein compared to our $52.00. The prices were roughly doubled in every case!

In one of the dress shops we saw a purse, exactly like one we carry, at a whooping $65.00! Our bag is $19.99! Guess it pays to live in Buffalo!!!!

Dear Gomez,

When I cast on it's always so much tighter than the actual item. What can I do? When I bind off, it's too lose! HELP.

Sincerely,

Uneven

Dear Uneven,

That's a common problem for many knitters. Until you can regulate your tension, try changing the needle. For instance, cast on in a larger sized needle and bind off with a smaller sized needle. The ends can be fine tuned by adjusting the needle size.

Loose-as-a-goose,

Gomez
